Horrific scenes at a country music festival in Las Vegas
At least 50 people have died and 500 have been injured after a gunman opened fire on a crowd at a Las Vegas concert on Sunday evening.
The suspect, named Stephen Paddock, 64, fired numerous shots from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel towards an open-air concert being held nearby. Two off-duty police officers are among the victims.
Paddock, a local resident, was shot and killed by authorities. A woman who was with him is thought to have been found, police have confirmed. She has been named as Marilou Danley.
Hundreds of people fled the area of Las Vegas when hundreds of gunshots were fired. There had been early reports of other incidents around the city, but police said the gunman was acting alone.
US President Donald Trump has tweeted offering his condolences to the victims: ‘My warmest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families of the terrible Las Vegas shooting. God bless you!’
